SPRING YOUTH GIRLS SOFTBALL SIGN-UPS NOW OPEN

WEST LINN, OR – The West Linn Softball Association announced today that signups for youth recreational and competitive ASA softball are now open for registration.

WLSA runs both recreational and competitive programs. The recreation programs range from Kindergarten Tee-ball up to fourth grade “Minors” teams. Competitive ASA programs are available for girls beginning at age 8 and running through age 18. Girls must meet the ASA age requirements for the four levels (10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under and 16 and under). All competitive programs are affiliated with the American Softball Association and comply with their rules. Registration is open through February 1st, 2010.

2 Female to Receive Honda-Broderick Cup

Two female athletes from Lock Haven University are among the 11 finalists to receive the Honda-Broderick Cup. This is awarded to the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year for Division II.

The two Lady Eagles vying for the honor are Senior Li Yizhi (Shanghai, China) and sophomore Kristen Erb (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township).

Li wrapped up one of the most outstanding careers in the women’s athletics history of Lock Haven this past fall. She is a three-time All-American and the most garnished volleyball player in the history of Lock Haven. She got the title American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Co-National Player of the Year during the 2006 season.
